Afraid to Connect With Spirit?

Do you feel you want to connect with Spirit but are terrified to do so? I've been there and I understand. It's a big deal to open up to Spirit. If it were easy, everyone would do it!

Many times we start by seeing things out of the corner of our eye or in our peripheral vision. Others may hear noises that are unexplainable. Still others may see things that keep repeating - numbers, coins, feathers, etc... (See my blog post 10 Signs You Are Opening to Spirit.)

Spirits of the Light never want to scare you or harm you in any way. They are only trying to get your attention to communicate. Once they have your attention, if you prefer to connect in a different way, all you have to do is tell them. It's not a problem for them to switch communication avenues but they won't know unless you communicate your preferences!

Since we are our most relaxed at night, many of us are contacted then. Sometimes we are contacted in dreams, other times we may think we just heard our name called. If you are losing sleep at night, establish boundaries. Tell Spirit that you need your sleep and you only want to communicate during the day. They don't need sleep, they are pure energy. In their excitement to connect, they forget that we do.

Basically, you need to understand that YOU are in charge here. You control how and when you want to be contacted. I feel strongly about boundaries and established early on that I did not want to see or hear from deceased people as I'm out and about. I don't see your loved ones hanging around you. I no longer get a nudge and asked to give a message when I'm out in public. I don't want to.

On the other hand, I am always, always, always open to feeling Angel or Spirit Guide presence. It is never intrusive and always for my highest good.
