Elephant: We Are Souls as Timeless As You

How I love Elephant! They are so family-oriented. Each member of the herd helps to raise their babies. They grieve their dead and are often seen touching their loved one's bones as they walk by, for years on end. They are extremely intelligent and studies are showing that they are even telepathic! Elephants are the largest land animals in the world. The largest elephant on record weighed 24,000 pounds and stood 13' at the shoulder. They have a poor sense of sight but an extremely heightened sense of smell. Their trunks have 40,000 muscles in them! Their hearing is far better than a humans. In short, they deserve our awe and respect.

I asked to speak to a member of the Elephant collective then I spoke with an individual elephant on the African plains.

Please note that this is a tough reading. I was stunned when the collective and individual both stayed very much in the same vein. They both are clearly disappointed in our actions. I don't blame them.

Collective:

Thank you for asking to speak with us. There is much to be gained if only man will listen. We are souls as timeless as you. We show love. We have families. Our relationships are based on integrity and honor. We treat all with mutual respect. We guard our young. We ask only that you treat us the same.

I thanked Elephant for having come forward and assured them that I would try to spread this message to all those who would hear.

Individual:

I connected with an elephant in the African savanna.

A massive female elephant charged up to me. She was very angry. She was so frustrated. "Why are you doing this? Why??? Is man so lacking that he needs to kill senselessly? We honor our ancestors and this earth. Your lack of integrity will steal our future. This can be fixed. Honor us! Respect our right as creation! Be the stewards God created you to be."

I assured her that I would do my utmost to spread her message.

I don't think you need anything else from me here. It is time for us all to recognize our responsibilities towards these magnificent creatures.

I would like to recommend a beautiful book for you, The Elephant Whisperer: My Life with the Herd in the African Wild by Lawrence Anthony. Although I loved these creatures before I read this book, Mr. Anthony's stories about them touched my heart very deeply.

This is an ongoing series on my blog. I speak with domesticated animals on a very regular basis. Each time I speak with a wild animal, I am humbled, truly humbled, by their dignity and grace.
